Safety is our highest priority! We can prove it.
In the spring of every year, American Fence Company employees are buzzing around their facility with tools, paint brushes and checklist in-hand, getting ready for their facility, vehicle and equipment inspection. This is a three hundred point all day inspection. It is conducted by the Company president, safety director, lead mechanic and inventory manager.
The inspection includes conducting a full DOT inspection on all vehicles and trailers. We are crawling under equipment looking for cracked frame rails and broken bolts to checking for proper tire pressure and working lights. The facility is inspected for safety, cleanliness and organization. Do we have a working lock-out tag-out system to all our circuit breakers being properly labeled. Safety and transportation records are audited for compliance. Are our drivers completing their HOS logs to do we document our safety tool box talks. The inventory is inspected for organization and safety. Do we properly label racks with load limits and is it stored safely.
Its tough! This inspection is not about looking good for others. Its about doing everything we can to be safe. Not all our operations meet our standards…at first. Too many deficiencies will lead to a re-inspection within sixty days. Bottom line, we are not done until we are satisfied.
One more reason why American Fence Company is the best. We care about our employees, making sure they get to go home each day.
